    Energy Conservation

Identifying and reducing energy consumption for the managed buildings is a crucial element of Solstice’s energy conservation program. We participate in a variety of programs available through the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA), including the Multifamily Performance Program (MPP), electricity curtailment programs, energy efficient and “green” products, bi-level lighting, and energy education.  We have also partnered with the New York City Mayor’s Office through the PlanNYC program to reduce greenhouse emissions in the buildings managed by Solstice by 30% over the next ten years.

We collaborate with several energy conservation and sustainability consultants for NYC cooperative and condominium markets, and have been successful in financing and implementing energy conservation projects through third-party lenders specializing in this field, where traditional financing is unqualified, restricted by underlying loans or may otherwise be unavailable.

In addition to managing energy consumption through physical plant components, Solstice Residential Group LLC, through its energy aggregation affiliate, Solstice Energy Services LLC (‘SES”), solicits and procures competitive energy commodities pricing on behalf of and for the benefit of its clients.

SES sends Requests for Proposals (“RFP’s”) only to reputable Energy Service Companies (“ESCO’s”) that have met the stringent requirements of the New York Independent System Operator (NYISO”).  These companies have registered with PSC and adhere to the PSC’s Uniform Business Practices (“UBP”), which sets standards for an ESCO’s creditworthiness, utility invoice processing, dispute resolution and marketing standards.
